Okay.  I admit it.  I have never been good a praying novenas, and, therefore, my children are not either.  Yet, I know that praying novenas can be a beautiful way of imitating the Lord's command of the Apostles when hey prayed for nine days in anticipation of he coming o the Holy Spirit, can help connect us to the liturgical year, and can focus us on the powerful act of praying and trusting in God.

Thus, even though I have missed Days 1 and 2 of the Christ the King Novena, which leads up to movable feast day being celebrated in the Church next Sunday, I thought I would begin the Novena anyway - simply doubling up on prayers for two days.

As a prayer aid, I also thought I would take the time to make simple Christ the King Novena copywork set to offer my children this week.  I am sharing them here in case your children can benefit from them, too.

St. Anthony of Padua's feast day is on June 13, so today, I put together a simple FREE copywork printable for my children and yours!

It includes this brief quote for children still gaining confidence with copywork:

Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak.

Then, it has this longer quote for children who like to copy passages with a bit more length:


Christians must lean on the Cross of Christ just as travelers lean on a staff when they begin a long journey. They must have the Passion of Christ deeply embedded in their minds and hearts, because only from it can they derive peace, grace, and truth.

Finally, it contains St. Anthony's Prayer for the Help of the Holy Spirit:

Pray for All Souls with FREE Eternal Rest Grant unto Them Copywork Printable in English and Latin

November - the Month of the Holy Souls in Purgatory - is just a few days away, so I'm readying for our week of praying for all souls at local cemeteries and continuing our tradition of praying daily for the dearly departed during our rosary time and whenever we pass a cemetery while driving.


As part of my preparations, I have created a set of simple copywork pages of the Eternal Rest prayer in both English and Latin, using "him", "her", "them", and their Latin equivalents in printing and in cursive on different sheets, so children can choose the version mot appropriate for themselves.  I've shared this FREE printable Eternal Rest Copywork Set with you here. 


My intent is to have my children copy the prayer early this week and, then, laminate it and put it in our minivan.  That way, we'll have it handy to bring to cemeteries between November 1 and 8, when we make cemetery visits to help gain indulgence for the dead.  


We will likely also recopy and laminate our St. Gertrude Prayer Copywork, since I neglected to pop our copies in our faith binders last year and now cannot find them.  If you'd like this copywork as well, you'll find print and cursive options in English only here.

Get Your FREE Printable Prayer to St. Michael Copywork in Printing and Cursive!

Happy Feast of the Archangels. 

I was hoping to find time earlier today to share the FREE printable Prayer to St. Michael Copywork Set I created for my children this morning so you could use it with yours today, too, but life did not work that way.  Still, I thought I would share the printable in case you would like to use it on the Feast of the Guardian Angels coming up on October 2 or, really, at any time you like.



In the printable set, I have included:

a printed example of the prayer,


 a cursive one,

two lined sheets with St. Michael's image on them,

 and two blank lined sheets.

That way, your children can choose to practice printing, cursive, or both, plus have room for overflow copywork in case they write with especially large or spaced out words.

Hope your children benefit from this copywork as mine have, writing the words of the prayer in their hearts as they copy.
